Frequently Asked Questions
What will my first visit be like?
We will do a review of your medical history, have a conversation about your goals for treatment, answer any questions you have, and develop a treatment plan that will address your specific goals. The first visit will possibly include a physical exam to assess your strength, motion, posture and function. You will want to wear comfortable clothes. If you are coming to my office, we will be in a private room.
How long is each visit?
Initial consults can be scheduled for 60 or 90 minutes. Follow-up visits can be 40 or 60 minutes, depending on your treatment plan. If you are unsure of what visit length you need, sign up for a free phone consult to discuss your goals with Caryn before you schedule. Please fill out forms online ahead of your initial consult to save time during your visit.
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can book an appointment online or call
(508) 254-2836 to schedule. Please leave a voicemail and your call should be returned that day.
Do I need a prescription or referral from my doctor?
No. Massachusetts is an unrestricted Direct Access state for physical therapy, which means patients are allowed to seek evaluation and treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician. However, if you plan on seeking reimbursement from insurance, your insurance provider may require a physician’s referral.
Do you take insurance?
MomLife Health and Wellness is a cash-based business, meaning an out-of-network provider for private insurance companies. Cash payment allows for a higher standard of care unrestricted by insurance requirements, including the convenience of clients to be seen in their own homes. Clients are offered a detailed receipt that allows them to apply their payment to flexible spending accounts or toward their out-of-network deductibles.
