Frequently Asked Questions

What will my first visit be like?

We will do a review of your medical history, have a conversation about your goals for treatment, answer any questions you have, and develop a treatment plan that will address your specific goals. The first visit will possibly include a physical exam to assess your strength, motion, posture and function. You will want to wear comfortable clothes. If you are coming to my office, we will be in a private room.

How long is each visit?

Initial consults are 60 minutes. Follow-up visits are between 50-60 minutes, depending on your treatment plan. You will be one-on-one with a physical therapist specialized in perinatal and pelvic health for the full duration of your visit. Please fill out forms online ahead of your initial consult to save time during your visit.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can book an appointment online or call

(508) 556-1397 to schedule. Please leave a voicemail and your call should be returned that day.

Do I need a prescription or referral from my doctor?

No.  Massachusetts is an unrestricted Direct Access state for physical therapy, which means patients are allowed to seek evaluation and treatment from a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician.  However, if you plan on seeking reimbursement from insurance, your insurance provider may require a physician’s referral.

Do you take insurance?

MomLife Health and Wellness is an out-of-network provider for private insurance companies.  Being out-of-network allows for a higher standard of care unrestricted by insurance requirements, including the duration of visits and length of your plan of care. Clients are offered a detailed receipt that allows them to apply their payment to flexible spending accounts or toward their out-of-network deductibles.

Why is MomLife Health and Wellness out-of-network?

The traditional insurance model prevents us from giving you the best possible treatment. The out-of-network provider structure allows us to provide you with patient focused, quality based, and highly personalized care.

You will have your therapist’s undivided attention, never have treatment by aides or assistants and you will never have any surprise bills for services.

Your therapist will be accessible to you in between your sessions for communication and will provide you with education and resources to manage your condition with confidence in between your visits. This model ultimately results in fewer visits, faster outcomes, and decreased overall cost of co-pays and unnecessary visits.
